Hi There!
I see you have decided to read my website blog. Let me give you a small introduction. My name is Shubhra Mayuri. I am a book editor by day and an aspiring creative genius (:p) by night. I am an Indian living in India but where I really want to live is an island where Kim Namjoon is the ruler/president (if you know you know).

I have been into creative everything since as far as I can remember, always trying something new and always taking interest in other people's creative ventures as well. In 2021, as the world was slowly inching towards being hopeful again, after the pandemic, I found a new outlet for my creative energy - art journaling. And it has been some journey!
It all started with me discovering some spreads and videos on Instagram and Pinterest. I could not wait to try it out for myself. I started with whatever materials I had and have not stopped since.

After spending years learning specific art formats from experts, I had found an artform that didn't have any rules for me to follow. And there were no goals either. I took to this new exciting artform quicker than the milliseconds it take to fetch your Google search results. Unlike traditional journaling in which you pen your daily thoughts or musings down in a productive manner, art journaling is more of an undefined format. It is this lack of definition that I find comforting. My most ideal journaling set up is me sitting at my table at night, listening to some true crime podcast in the background and making a spread in my journal.

Art journaling made me discover new skills, new ways of thinking, and new roads to peace, and it has so far been the most consistent motivator in my life. I started journaling first, then made an Instagram page for it, then bought an iPad to make and sell my own designs, opened another Instagram shop page, launched this website and now here I am writing my very first blog on it!
This post is more about the person behind the website. However, if you are interested to read more about the ideas that went into birthing Studio Syahi, check out https://www.studiosyahi.com/about .
This blog for me this is just like my art journal. I am not going to follow any rules; I am just going to do it and if people derive value from it, bonus!
So thank you for joining me in yet another new thing that I am trying and I hope you gain something with my upcoming thoughts and musings. With this more personal aspect dealt with here, the next blogs will be about art journaling tips and tricks or discussions that you can take part in. Have a great day ahead!
